Welcome.

Treatment specialization includes:
- Therapy for Depression and Anxiety

- Parenting Support
- Postpartum Depression and Anxiety
- Eating Disorders
Treatment Approach
My style as a therapist is interactive, conversational, and friendly. I ask a lot of questions both so that I learn about who you are, and as a way of helping to deepen your self-awareness. I believe that an important element of the therapeutic process is being able to listen to yourself out loud, while feeling understood in a nonjudgmental, compassionate way. I am curious about the underlying emotions and beliefs that shape self-image, effect relationships, and motivate behavior.
ABOUT
I completed my undergraduate studies in Philosophy and the History of Math and Science at St. John’s College in Santa Fe, NM. After working for several years in news media in Paris and New York, I completed my Masters of Social Work studies at Columbia University. My postgraduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy was at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapies in New York City. I have been in private practice for 10 years in Greenwich and NYC, and I worked at Greenwich Hospital in the Addiction Recovery Center until the birth of my second child several years ago. I have trained extensively in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples at the Center for Hope and Renewal in Greenwich. I am a certified yoga instructor.
I am a member of the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). ICEEFT serves as a center of excellence for the promotion of secure, resilient and successful relationship between partners and within families. I am also a member of the New York Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy (NYCEFT). NYCEFT provides training and supervision to mental health professionals in Emotionally Focused Therapy.
SERVICES
Individual Counseling and Psychotherapy
Working one on one, in a confidential, supportive atmosphere, I provide an individualized therapy experience, drawing on training in 12-Step Recovery, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Relational Therapy. I offer concrete strategies for change when necessary, including offering referrals for complementary therapies or higher level of care. I aim to help people to explore aspects of themselves that perhaps feel stuck or inaccessible, and to dispel the fear that meaningful change is impossible.
Couples Counseling
I use the Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) treatment model for couples therapy. EFT is the leading approach for evidence based treatment in couples counseling. EFT is a short-term (8-20 sessions) structured therapy, that helps couples to identify negative patterns in their relationship as the first step in creating change. Based on the principles of Attachment Theory, EFT recognizes the very human need for a sense of emotional connection and for having secure bonds in relationships. Couples learn how to communicate and respond to one another in a more loving way, creating a meaningful experience of closeness and lasting change.
